Terms of Use

Welcome to Climb NZ, a community site operated by the New Zealand Alpine Club (NZAC) Inc.

A quick guide to posting on the MojoZone forums

Climbers love to talk about climbing – and, as you've probably already discovered, opinions vary widely on just about any topic related to climbing that you can think of. Which can only be a good thing, and we hope you'll share your views here so that everyone's experience of what it is to be a climber can be enriched and deepened.

Robust debate is a good thing; so is sharing information, views and opinions. In these forums we'll try our best to encourage that with an absolute minimum of interference from moderators. But, because things can sometimes get out of hand, here is a short list of things you should avoid.

By signing up to MojoZone you agree to these terms. If you don't like them you can always start your own website. If a moderator decides your post does not meet these terms, they can edit or remove it. If you repeatedly contravene these terms, you'll be warned, and then if that doesn't work we'll asked you to go away for a week to calm down.

First and most important: be nice to each other. Arguments are fine, so long as they are about issues and don't resort to personal insults, attacks or threats, or abusive language. This also includes bigotry, sexism, religious intolerance, libel, slander, etc!

Second, spam postings will be removed and accounts terminated. Ditto for links to malware, spam or otherwise malicious or off-topic sites.

Third, please don't use the forums for commercial advertising. If you are an individual who wishes to sell an item, by all means use the Trading Post forum. If you are a business and wish to advertise your products and services on MojoZone, please contact us.

Fourth, don't post any personal information that is not your own without direct consent from the party involved. For example, don't give out somebody's name, address or phone number unless they want you to. Please don't use someone else's account to post, or share accounts. It's not hard to sign up.

Fifth, try to post in the appropriate forum, and to stay on topic. Start a new thread if you need to. Moderators may step in to encourage you back on topic or split threads is it's necessary.

We realize that these 'rules' are open to some interpretation. If you don't agree with any of them, or with a decision made by a moderator, get in touch but do it privately (by PM or email).

Thanks for reading this far. We hope you enjoy your discussions here.
