Waipapa Area...

:mad: If your thinking of climbing at 'Waipapa' namely the traverse on the main cliff forget it there happens to be a tree laying across and directly below the abseil point of the climb and is precariously dangeling from the top of the crag so my advice is to wait until said tree has (by a fluke of nature) fallen done or helped along by mans intervention unfortunately for myself (admiring the view) i did not see it so by the time i got to the top i had to down climb to the previous belay point on another climb...oh well alls good yeah!!

The hanging tree just right of the Arches belay might be there some time as it looks like it is caught on another solid one higher up. It will definitely need a helping hand. As it hangs down my route next time I'm there I'll try and do the job. It might need a chainsaw though. Anybody got one they could bring to Waipapa sometime soon?
this doesnt happen to be the tree above the belay point on the archs?? we didnt notice it either till we got there to the belay point. Hopefully it falls sonn or it is helped because i wanna try the route going straight up to that belay ledge, if we are indeed talking about the same tree???
