Tinui Trip

Anyone keen to car pool for a trip from Welly up to Tinui later this year once it opens up again? :)

Ok, I'm not gonna dump on Tinui as bad as most (I really did like the place), but I thought I should give you a heads up. The access is dodgy. It is over grown, has plenty of active slips, the rock is dirty and some of the bolts are HIGHLY suspect. I would recommend going with someone who has been there before so the 30 minute approach doesn't become an hour or more!
IF (the BIG if) Tinui is to be a worth while destination it needs a crew of dedicated people to go up and redo some trails, redo some bolts, thow up some NEW routes, have a cleaning field day and generally spruce the place up quite a bit. All that being said.... I'm not sure how much the farmer really WANTS a new crop of people bumbling around in his back yard.
All THAT being said.... if a revamping crew IS formulated.... I'm in. I am keen to help with trail improvement, scrubbing, whatever.
You mean the Waikato, or Tinui ? :wink:
