It's analogous to the alpine climbing scene.

Punk was once alive, and was the spirit that inspired so many wonderfully creative endeavours.

now Punk is taking a nap, sleeping, resting, getting it's tubes tied, or talking to a dead parrot...

Whatever happened?

What is needed to fire up that independent spirit, and to get that retarded party started again?

Now here's an interesting question. Punk or disco, which had more in common with climbing?

(Hint: white powder, tight shiny brightly coloured clothes, obsessive about the sequins)

I would seriously question the relevance of this question- you might as well have asked what has more in common with climbing - the waltz or the foxtrot.

I would add however that everyone knows that climbing is much more akin to disco and always has been.  if you have heard Donna Summer sing "I feel love" you will know what I mean.
