I really enjoyed Banff in Dunedin, so I'm pretty keen to travel to Wanaka and support the Mountain Film Festival. Any one been to the mountain film festival before? How does it compare with Banff, can any local give accomodation advice etc etc.

Anyone interested in going down for it? Maybe we could share accomodation or what not. I'd organise something with complete listing of costs so we could budget for the trip if your interested, post or pm me. Tickets on sale in a few days I believe.

Anyone know how many people does a platinum pass cover? Guess we could do some climbing or bouldering while we are down there weather depending. I'll try follow up if someone else wants to lead... Embarassed

Talking to yourself is fun.

Festival was great, recommended for anyone next year. It's a marathon to go to every film. I suggest you pick and choose sessions... They save the best ones for the main nights. It's impossibe to tell from the programme... as descriptive as it is... what films you will enjoy.

Some of them are about great achievement, others are more about how the experiences/tragedies outdoors have added to ones life. Plenty of skiing, big wall, paragliding, kayaking, expedition and climbing flicks. Probably close to 40hrs of mountain films... yeah... marathon effort, but recommended.
