Hi guys, just wondering if any of you knows about this Maratoto 5-6 pitches bolted route called Bolting Aphrodisiacs ?

 

The description from the free climbing guide says:

 

Bolting Aphrodisiacs (A1) (18) 70m
Starting to the left of the big overhang this aid route goes right to the top of the
crag. Exposed and overhanging, 5-6 pitchs. Descent can be done in four
abseils. [Pro 80 bolts!, wires, hookes]

I've been there twice and spoted a few big overhangs so any of you guys know exactly which big overhang is?

ha ha - 80 bolts in 70m and (a) its hard to find ? (b) you still need wires - crickey!

yeah, I don't mind using wires and/or hookes, will be nice if someone knows where that starts or if someone climbed it before...

I belive there are more than 70m of climb there; 2 rock faces so at least 150m thats why 80 bolts plus wires and stuff, so you guys are telling me that no one climb this route although is 140Km from Auckland and it's the first A1 that I see in North Island?

Yep.  That's exactly what we're saying.  

 

Go for it--I'm curious as hell to hear what you've got to say about it!  

 

As far as I know, there were some issues with one of the developers, the crag wasn't well known or publicised, and basically after the impetus behind it dropped off it just faded off the radar until Cliff republicsed it.
