Ok... so we FINALLY had a sit down with the last group that has a bit of "say" at the Mangaokewa Scenic Reserve and the concensus is that they would like to keep the "scenic" in the name! Although we have not been asked to stop developing new routes (or worse yet, climbing!!!), we have been asked to contain the developing to the areas we have already done work.
Basically, this means that we can still put up new routes from the far left end of the "Parking Lot Wall" all the way up to the "Bat Cave." We simply can not go past this point. Although this is a BIT of sad news, we still have an enormus amount of potential. Hell, in the long run... this is actually sort of good as that it means there won't be random lines all over the show (which means more walking  !)
Thank you for your understanding- The Kewa crew

going along with the same lines as matt has already pointed out^^^ we also need to MINIMISE the amount of 'gardening' we do around the crag. this means no more tree/branch chopping and leave the supplejack and rata vines where they are please.

Slab climbing in 2 easy steps.
1. lips against rock

Anyone who wants to help keep up with the track maitanence is welcome though!!! It's great that the cliff has actually reached "crag" status already... there are still plenty of lines waiting to go up as well. Get out there and snag one for yourself!
