I need a Buddy ASAP

Hi all.

I'm a Kiwi living in Vancouver Canada. My little Nana is sick so I am on a plane to NZ tomorrow, I will be floating between Napier, Auckland and the Northland area till the 15th Jan. I will have access to a car, I will have a rope and full trad rack etc

Just looking to get out a few times to break the fun of being at the hospital.

I am an experienced climber and instructor in rock, aid and ice climbing for the Alpine Club of Canada and the BC Moutaineering Club. I have only had one day out on rock in the last couple of months so I am not really strong but I have had 23 days on ice in the last month around the Rockies, BC, Montana and Quebec (hard to climb rock in -30C). Not looking to get pumped stupid just want to enjoy a little easy rock  up to 5.10 or 5.11, dont care how hard you climb as long as you want to climb, have fun and can offer a safe belay.

So please drop me a line, I have been away from NZ for a long time and don't know the climbing areas.

I've already posted a message to find someone to go to wherepapa south (castle rock) near Hamilton\Tauranga, or Mt Maunganui where i'm living. So if you will be in these areas give me a call.

I arrive on the 1st, I'm in Auckland till the Tuesday then down to Napier. I can easily get away for a day trip from Napier. Also looking to do a hike up Mt Taranaki and Mt Ruapehu (I would like to do both in a big long day for a laugh). I will give you a call when I get to Auckland and see what you are up for.

Hey Jason,

If you haven't already hooked yourself up a partner, I am free.  Also, there's a new crag Mangaokewa which you should visit before you go back to Canada.Esp if you've been to dirty old Frogatt before.

I will give you a call, I am in Napier now but I think I am going to try and go for a hike tomorrow (I have a plan to try driving from Napier and hike/run up Mt Taranaki and Mt Ruapehu and be back in Napier the same day) and it looks like tomorrow is my best option although the weather is looking a little damp and windy. I will then be in Auckland and can do what ever.
