Forum Rules and Guidelines
As the traffic is growing on MojoZone, quite dramatically I might add, it it is now the face of NZ climbing websites. It's in the first page of google results for just about everything related to climbing in New Zealand, and thus, it's about time people in the forums start acting a little more maturely.
Please DO use the forums to discuss access issues, climbing techniques, cool climbing related info, make climbing trips, hook up with new friends, discuss edgy bolting issues, new videos, new routes, comps, training, injuries, etc etc. However the following are the rules
RULES
1. Try to Keep posts and discussions on topic
2. You may not use the forums to sell commercial wares. Full stop.
3. You may not use the forums to attack a product or service baselessly.
4. Any advertising spam we will trace back the IP's and apache log files, do reverse DNS lookups, and notify relavant ISP's.
5. You may not use the forums to abuse other forum members.
6. Verbal Diahorrea transmitted via the keyboard will be removed. Don't complain (read above rules).
7. The site has a private messaging system, and you have email. Please use either for personal discussions.
Remember the internet is different, your words on here are etched in stone, cached in search engines across the planet, and recorded forever long as the database is mantained on this site. DON'T say things you wouldn't otherwise say in person. Think before you post. What you say here may be the first thing a visitor to New Zealand reads about our climbing culture, more often than not in the past, posts on this forum have not been representative of the climbing culture in New Zealand.
And at the end of the day, we're all climbers, all bound by that spirit, regardless of whether we use bolts, cams, wires, boulder mats, bare feet, plastic or rock, of the love to ascend, to enjoy a healthy thrill seeking past time.
I am moving overseas, but I will be maintaning the site for the indefinite future. I have a bit more time on my hands so expect a little more happening on the Zone.
Your Friendly Site Owner,
Rowan
Yea the rules are fair, will abide(??) by them from now on
I for one welcome the rules posted by our friendly mojozone overlord.
I agree, I think some rules needed to be sent down.
Well down Rowan. & good luck for overseas!
Make sure u climb over there ok!
These rules have been superceded by the guidelines at http://mojozone.co.nz/terms
Hi,
just wanted to let everyone know that as of today, I will be volunteering as one of the moderators.
Between us mods, we should be able to catch everything (e.g. SPAM) pretty quickly as it comes up, but if any of you notice anything that we haven't, definitely let us know.
Cheers,
Gabe

Have then been any changes to the rules and guidelines since the NZAC took over administration of this site from Rowan ?
Yes, some changes have been made. As Jonathan aleady mentioned, the updated rules are here: http://mojozone.co.nz/terms
FYI (for your information):
After removing a couple "historic" (i.e. started before I became a Mod) threads, I think it might be worth mentioning the following to all, so it is clear...
Posts in the forum, that were posted before 2011, will not be automatically checked for content that violates the currently posted Terms of Use.
If you find an old post, which you deem inappropriate, please do let us know about it! We are grateful for your help, and will definitely have a look at the post(s) in question.
Thank you for your help.

Fair enough Rowan. Cheers for all the work.
