Keen to join groups and climb with anyone from 18 to 80. (Will be flying until Tuesday afternoon)

I think there is, I just didn't have the time last year to get involved.
Will get back to you when I see a light at the end of this tunnel I am in!!

Hey Stug,
There is good news and bad news. Good news is there are lots of good places to climb near Timaru. Mt Horrible, Hanging Rock, Spur Rd. Bads news is, they don't really have an indoor wall, so it might be hard to meet other climbers, there maybe one or two on the forum here. There is a book at hanging rock that will have most of the local climbers in it, or you can inquire at the polytechnic and someone there will be able to hook you up.The alpine club members in Timaru are mostly older experienced mountaineers.
I'm from Oamaru and we climb at these places every so often. I do quite a bit at Duntroon in the summer, pity you didn't move to Oamaru (We got the best cheapest indoor climbing wall in the country). We got a bunch of keen Brits in our indoor club as well. Anyways, drop me a line if your keen. Sunday works best for most of the guys.
