Hey everybody, have a few questions for you guys.

I was supposed to arrive in NZ in the beginning of april, but various detours along the way make it impossible to make it there before the beginning of may.

Will it still be possible to go to Castle Hill, or will it be too cold and wet?

It's one of the places I've been looking forward to the most, and being Norwegian, I'm pretty used to cold, and it can't be much worse temperaturewise than Yangshuo has been the last few weeks, so the thing I'm most concerned about is getting rained of the boulders.

And will I find climbing partners at that time of the year, or would any of you guys take pity on a lonesome traveller and show me around?

I understand Aussie jokes are popular in Kiwiland, so I googled up one to show my great sense of humour and make it more tempting to bring me along, haha.

What is the difference between yogurt and Australia?
Yogurt has some culture

Cheers, Stephan

Awesomeness already.

Castle Hill should be mint then Stephan.  But I never climb there so don't put any worth on that comment I'm just guessing.

You didn't like my joke?

I found another one which you might like better;

Did you know that New Zealanders who emigrate to Australia raise the IQ of both countries ?

Cheers for that, I guess a guess is better than nothing.

If anyone else who actually knows the area have an opinion, I would be delighted to hear it Laughing

Cool, but do you mean you might be going to Castle Hill, or might be free in Timaru?

While Timaru sounds cool also, I think I will dedicate my limited time to Castle Hill, but thanks for replying.

Just go in may. April is usually quite dry so with luck the boulders will still be dry.I have been in all sorts of weather snow in February Beautiful days in winter... it seems to be luck. If the weather is good people will be there on the weekends.

May is a perfect time for Castle Hill. The temperature will be ideal. You might get the odd day of rain or drizzle, but it will generally be dry.

Enjoy!
