Scott Mooney Warming Up

Scott Mooney is currently enjoying the balmy 2 to -5 degree days as Sweden approaches summer and can be found warming up on the local and not so local crags at his disposal. On recent foray's to bouldering areas of crisp granite set with a backdrop of the most amazing alpine mountains, Scott has shaken the winter cold off and started to send. A slew of boulders up to 7C the hardest in that area fell to repeated attention from Scott and visiting tourists from England and Australia in the first weeks of the "outdoor climbing season"

Deciding warmer climates was the way to go and would make a preferable change a quick four day trip to Mallorca Spain was the arranged. While this trip only produced one day of route climbing some quick sends where managed of a 7C (see picture) and two 7C+'s all second go before hitting the sightseeing and sunny locals of the nearest cafe, then heading across the border to Sweden.

The beautiful sun and women in Spain obviously had a rejuvenating and invigorating effect on Scotts traditional winter tan, because soon after arriving back in Sweden Scott hit the crag in search of a challenge. Only problem is when you start sending the 8a's second go you start to run out of climbs fairly quickly.

Currently picking his way through the local guidebooks http://www.plonk.se/snf/flaten3.html for a challenge Scott is getting primed to send some of the hardest lines in the area with several 8b's in his sights with this picture of climbing partner Daniel on his next planned 8a.

When the chill of night encloses the community inside, Scott can be found down at the local pizza joint munching hard in an attempt to become a member of the 80+ club or alternatively at the gym changing a few routes or entering a few friendly bouldering competitions. Recently placing second equal slightly behind Australian Matt Adams Mr. Mooney seems to be warming up.
