Rowans Birthday Weekend

So I hired out the lodge for everyone for Saturday night as it was quite cheap (much cheaper than dumping down a bar tab on somewhere in the viaduct)...After a bit of cajoleing and bribery I managed to get most everyone hooked on the idea.. and the big countdown began. Friday night the advance party turned up and setup base camp.. well actually there wasn't any setting up to be done as Castle Rock is something like the bach that you wish your parents owned.. a very very plush 'backpackers' (if you can call it that). The weekend was spent climbing, mountain biking, talking, drinking, entertainment courtesy of BJ & Monteiths, a bit of bouldering on plastic and eating pies at Bryces

A very big thanks to Alex, Jeff and Michael at Castle Rock. Tim for bringing down some gear to climb on. Jen for her fashion show in the PJ's. Paloma for the stunt action. SpK for the random acts. BJ for his genius vocal action. Tracey, Ollie and P for doing the solid 7hour drive to get to Castle Rock (what happens when you get 3 marketers in a car...) Simon & Kym for having a go even tho they'd never climbed before. Tim for his puffy Jacket. Karina for the pillow fights and cooking up a storm Sunday morning. Frosty and Tim-Bob for showing everyone what a hard core climber is like. And yeah everyone just for being there. Cool weekend. Will be done again :)

We only managed to have one incident the entire weekend, a nice little mountain bike crash which meant a few nervous moments and more than a few hours hanging round Waikato hospital on Sunday night. Remember - Always wear your helmet and always always ride with a partner or two.
