MBS Round #1
The format of this round was for the first 90minutes a points based system working on 15 problems, with the points gained in that round going to the overall series. The second half of the evening was one very very hard problem that only one competitor sent.
In the problem based round there were 3 categories, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. 5 problems in each category. 90mins to do as many problems as you can. However only the 5 best problems were counted for the total points. The points were allocated as follows - 3 for every beginner problem, 5 intermediate, and 7 advanced. Therefore the maximum amount of points being 35. Ben Smith came in 3rd getting 25 points, Eddie Fowke 2nd at 27 points, and Richard Morgan taking out the top spot at 35 points.
In the final round a progressive scored problem was set, using a +/- scoring system per hold. A 5 minute viewing time was allowed, with competitors attempting it on a reverse order based on points from the problem based round. Initially we had decided on one attempt, but with nearly all competitors getting a 5- we decided to let a 2nd attempt go through. Eddie Fowke took out the top spot with a clean first attempt on 9, Rich Morgan got to the 7th hold before bailing taking 2nd and Gina MacDougal just tagged the 7th hold before exiting stage left.

Jenni for taking the photos and everyone for turning up.
The next round in the series will be in the new year. Hopefully, with the participation of other gym owners we are looking at the new Edge, Birkenhead Leisure Centre, definitely at the Nasium again and outdoors, at the Quarry, and maybe Waitomo, Froggatt area. After the summer holiday period is over we aim to hold a round every month.
