Fun in da City

Imagine standing at the bottom of a problem with the sun on your back, surrounded by a group of friends of old and some you have just met. The problem has seen some attempts but none succeed, you step up chalk, take a deep controlled breathe and launch for the starting crimps, catch and release your breathe. Set your right foot high and lock hard on your left hand to reach high to the crux sloper--- it sticks and slides ever so slightly, reset, breathe, you hear a collective intake of breathe from behind you as onlookers expect you to explode off. Then silence, you pause hit that perfect point of balance and control, your feet perform a miracle of subtle sequence solving and you hands seem drawn as if by magic directly to the sweetest part of each devious lump of plastic arrayed above. There is no tension only movement and you grap the finish hold that releases a cry from your throat echoed by the hoards of spectators who have gathered to watch. Oh yeah flashing that problem just gave you the win, and you just burned all your friends off now that's fun.

This senario will be played out many times over the next three weeks and really sets the stage of future competitions, big fun, big falls and big audiences, sponsored prizes and better coverage of our sport events.
