An Extremely Sad Loss

i just called ICU and talked to his sister who told me that his family has flown in from around the place and that willie will not survive (gulp) . they will turn off his life support today Wednesday 29 Jan and then he'll be flown back to takaka where some of his family still are.
i don't know whether it is insensitive to pass it on like this or not. i suppose it will travel fast enough, and the family shared it with me, as a stranger over the phone, so i'll pass it on to others who will want to know. i very much hope that this doesn't offend anyone.
when i spoke to his sister, she said that i could go into the hospital if i wanted to. so at least the family has extended that invitation, like i say, to me as a stranger over the phone, so presumably anyone who feels like that is something that they want to do can do so. he is in the intensive care unit in wellington hospital.
